UK Flyer Magazine visits South Africa

Learn To Fly hosted a team from the UK Flyer Magazine. They were in South Africa to look at our Helicopter Training packages and to visit our 'idyllic' training situation in Durban.

They started in Pretoria and spent two days 'on location' overflying game ranches, mountains and lakes and along the border of the Kruger National Park. Close up views of elephants, hippos and many other species.

They also participated in the darting and capture of a black and a white rhino prior to relocation.

UK Flyer Magazine in Durban

Then on to Durban to view our superb guest house (not to be confused with the old fashioned B&B!). A wonderful view over a green golf course and blue Indian Ocean. A five minute walk to the flying school. Even the Medical Examination is only a short walk down the road.

The team noted the "great vibe" at the airport. One member was overheard saying "If I were starting out again ......... this is the place I would choose".

In Durban we offer both fixed-wing and helicopter training. Microlight training is available in Durban.

UK Flyer 'special edition' on South Africa

We understand that the UK Flyer Magazine is planning an edition later in the year that will focus on South Africa as an emerging destination for student pilot training.

Away from the USA

A recent trend (accelerated by recent events in the Middle East) has been a tendency for student pilots from Europe,UK & AFRICA to choose helicopter training destinations other than the USA.

Clearly South Africa is being chosen by more and more students. We have experienced a rise in both enquiries and bookings.
